Getting here by car:

Take junction 36 from the M6 motorway and follow the blue sign for The Lakes (A591). Stay on the A591 towards Windermere and go straight through the Kendal roundabout. Keep on the A591 and at Windermere pass the main intersection into Windermere and take the next left turn about 100m further on. Carry on through the town past the shops and after the pedestrian crossing at the end of the shops count four turns to the left. Take the fourth turning left at the slate tower onto Lake Road then the first right onto Princes Road. We are half way up the road on the right.

There is plenty of free on-street parking around Kirkwood House. We have two off-street car bays on the premises, one of which has an EV charging station for electric vehicles. There is plenty of parking on the road, and the local school also often opens their car park up for free parking.

Getting here by train:

We are approximately 15 minutes walk (mostly downhill) from Windermere station. Come out of the station and turn left. Bear left again onto Victoria St, walk through the town centre and carry on until you get to Main Road. Continue walking until you reach a tight left turn by the Clock Tower into Lake Road. Turn immediately right into Princes Drive. Walk up the hill and at the first road (Queens Drive) Kirkwood House will be immediately across the road.

Plan your journey with the Trainline.

Fantastic stay!

Stayed here for 3 nights with my partner and could not fault a thing. Our room was huge and well presented with tea and coffee making facilities. The room and en suite were spotless.
