Richard and Paula offer you a warm welcome at Kirkwood Guest House, Windermere, in the heart of the lake district. We pride ourselves on the high level of comfort and service we provide to our customers within our home. Our traditional Victorian slate and stone house is situated on a quiet street, but within a few minutes’ walk of both Bowness and Windermere.

Oozing Victorian charm, the house itself dates from 1891. Guest bedrooms are located over three floors, and all seven bedrooms are individually furnished, boasting many original period features. With a choice of doubles, four-poster rooms and two family rooms, that sleep three. All of our rooms have en-suites, and little extras such as toiletries, WiFi and tea and coffee facilities.

We are pleased to offer a range of breakfast with locally sourced produce, from the traditional English, or something a little different, we have it covered. As Paula is Gluten Free, we understand the needs of those on special diets, and are therefore proud to offer a range of options, as well as vegetarian and vegan diets. Please just speak to us

We are situated on a quiet corner, with 2 parking spaces and free street parking. We also have the benefit of a car charging point for our customers.

There are lots of things to do and see in the area, come rain or shine. Whether you want to hike in the hills, take in a local walk or visit the local villages and attractions, Kirkwood House is ideally placed. We are a short walk from the bars and restaurants as well as many of the local attraction within Bowness and Windermere,
